The latest in the generation of Marti.n-Audio line source systems. The W8LM mini line array is a 3-way bi-amp or passive wideband system composed of two 8'' and two 1" drivers. Its performance and its passive impedance of 12 Ohms (2x 12 Ohms active) allow you to load 4 speakers (passive) on the same amplifier channel (total impedance 3 Ohms).

The recommended amplifiers are the Pro8200 Crest or the MA2.8 Martin-Audio.

This system called "line array", therefore with propagation in cylindrical waves, will make you go from an attenuation of 6 dB (in spherical waves) to 3 dB each time you double the distance.

Reminder: + 3dB = double the power.

Example of application (transition line):

The transition line will be the return, depending on the distance, from the cylindrical wave to the spherical wave, i.e. the return of an attenuation of 3dB to 6dB for each time the distance is doubled.

For a 2 meter (banana) line (8 x W8LM) at 10 kHz, this line is set at 59 meters.

According to this example, in passive and thanks to the impedance of 12 Ohms, with 8 W8LM per side, you will only need one amp per side.

The W8LM can also be stacked up to 6 speakers.
